FAQ: What If the Brief Misses?

1 min read

Sometimes the first brief will not fit. That is tuning feedback, not a failure. Use the branches below, and remember that you still own the call. Background: part 01.

Q. The brief feels one-sided.

A. If one angle is not honest for this goal, lower the bias towards the balanced band, or run a Cloud ensemble so several matrices compete.

Q. The brief is too broad and noncommittal.

A. If you were exploring near 0.50, raise the bias towards the decisive band (0.85–0.93) so the field commits.

Q. It answers the wrong question.

A. Then the problem is upstream. Rewrite the goal as one job and move the hard rules into extra context. Knobs cannot fix a goal that points the wrong way.

Q. It is close, but I am not sure a change helped.

A. Hold the seed, change one knob and compare the two briefs side by side.

Q. I just do not like it.

A. Discard it. The brief is data, not an order. Your host model writes the work, and you decide what ships.

Each miss shows you which lean suits which kind of goal. Write it down.

One Idea: Stress-Tested Before You See It
